I attended a Family Discovery Day this weekend and found that a number of people did not realize that there is a great new tool available for FamilySearch resources. In the fall of 2023, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints made available access to resources generally found only at FamilySearch Centers at their meetinghouses. The FamilySearch Center Premium Content browser extension provides access to 15 premium websites:
- 19th-Century British Library Newspapers
- Alexander Street
- American Ancestors
- Ancestry Institution (Ancestry.com)
- ArkivDigital
- FamNet
- Findmypast
- Fold3
- Geneanet
- Goldie May
- Irish Ancestors
- MyHeritage Library Edition
- NewspaperArchive
- Paper Trail
- Puzzilla
This access works only in Church meetinghouses and FamilySearch centers, and you must be connected to the Liahona network. The access is also only available for the Chrome and Firefox browsers. Instructions for installing the extension in your browser can be found at this help page.
